After reading this and the other thread (Japan vs. China) I’d say it wouldn’t be bad to try to remember one thing: what a privilege it is to have an American, a British, French, Swedish, Canadian, Australian or Dutch passport or to be born in a western country. To live in a place where there are basic freedoms and where you can develop your ass and make money if you really do your best. Where there is also basic political freedom and protection of minorities.
It’s good to criticize the west, your own country, its policies and its shortcomings but be aware of how much BETTER it is to live & work there in terms of basic rights/needs - generally speaking - compared to most countries in the world, including Russia, China and most Arab countries.
The freedoms that you take for granted can disappear sooner than you think…
