Who knows this pianist?

Never heard of her…

I have some of her recordings on RCA with Boston / Munch. If I recall correctly, she did a pretty nice Prok 2. I’ll check when I get home.

I’m not familiar with her playing, but I am familiar with the name. God knows from where though… I can’t find anything with her anywhere.

Why are you wondering?

You do. Listening to it now, she’s extremely good. Very French though, and with a completely botched cadenza. Three cuts, I think.

From where?

How about, instead, you email me, when it’s obvious that I’m light on words? شكرا لكم

I think I heard her play Ravel once and wasn’t impressed at all…

Tru, the RCA Ravel with Munch is a bit odd.

I’m listening to the Ravel on youtube now as well. She plays well here too to my ears, but yes she does feel a bit awkward in the music. My main gripe with her is her nationality, as it were. I’ve never been a fan of this mid C French school, with hardly any pedal and where everything is right at surface level both pianistically and musically. Still, within those confines she is very impressive - plenty of willpower, and tech to spare.

Hehe, yeah ok III did indeed move from awkward to odd. Still, happy to be acquainted with this lady - thanks for the heads up vlad.

Yeah I agree with you, that Ravel PC was all surface(y). But it didn’t even sparkle IMO.

Now who’s going to get me that rare recording of Pierre Sancan’s Ravel PC? That one was the most impressive I’d ever heard.

Have you tried @csaba?

There were some gorgeous female French pianists active in these years though. Try Jacqeline Eymar, Monique de la Bruchollerie, Monique Haas, Gaby Casadesus, Agnelle Bundervoët…

I’m only familiar with the Moniques. They do play in a style I’m not particularly attracted to - at this point in life at least - but I do like de la Bruchollerie. In particular she’s got one of my favourite K.466.

Yeah @csaba WTF? Why haven’t you shared this yet? The world needs to know this recording.
