I remember when I was a kid of 7–then I was convinced interpreters form a
“trade”–I was impressed when I noticed Gavrilov’s octaves in
Tchaikovsky’s 1st Concerto were the fastest… beating even Horowitz.

Now I am less impressed. Much less.

Chopin’s etudes opus 10 from a concert in Berlin and it was really
unbelievable. Even an extremely well educated German public couldn’t hold
itself and aupplauded serveral times after a single etude and with reason.
