Because the neurologist told me there was no cure, and last time I tried to play the piano when I was home in Oz I couldn’t even play easy sheeyat like parts of the Chopin F minor concerto or Weissenberg’s En Avril à Paris transcription.

I once told my ex how there were a lot of Italians in Australia and mentioned how they were sometimes called wogs in passing.
Months later we were talking about doing a road trip in Oz when she was less broke and she said “will they call me wog?”. I thought it was really cute.
It’s still better than what she would call Italians from the south “terroni di merda”.
I didn’t even realise the poms used this term, I thought it was exclusively Australian.
I wonder if I would get arrested for calling them poms?
Btw, I don’t use that term in a pejorative way either.

One thing I can never figure out is why are Paki and abo considered racist when Aussie is not? I don’t know of any other connotation for it, just shorthand.
