Dunno, I had two high freq rate ADCs and only bother with 96khz because I do aggressive noise and EQ on the records and it helps with aliasing when applying filters. Listener wise I can only tell when bit rates go from 24 to 16 and even then only in the God headphones.

Sample rate is just slices of waveforms. More past when a playback chain can resolves not gonna be hearable outside insane unhearable high freq resolution so useless mainly in physical world. The bit depth are how much detail each of those slices carry so can be noticeable. 16 bit each slice have 65k slices of volume across it’s range and 24 bit 16 million I think.

One of my ADCs which is a hacked measurement tool will do 384khz 32 bit.
