Godo has this really DECADENT style that I enjoy.

Never could really get into the BUZ conc…

Da GODO pozz way mo firmly rooted in romanticism.

Both have a cool, laid back style at da piano.
Arguably da buz limited recs is mo fascinating to listen to

Godo recs totally not up to his level except fo his 2 Schubert trannies, Greg Blabkade n da stroke inducing Scherzo 4.

Godo gets my vote.

Da BUZ style clearly post-romantic n many his original compos are not my cup of tea. At all.

Buz, simply because da BUZCONC overrides all other considerations. Shamefully I am not familiar with his operas nor much of his extensive output - I’ve heard it claimed that Doktor Faust is a masterpiece.

I love those Chopin arrangements of Godowsky’s, but you can’t argue with Busoni’s Bach and I do think he was a better original composer as well - even if he always seemed to just fall short of creating that undisputable masterpiece. Closest IMO are probably the Concerto (op.39) and the Fantasia nach JS Bach.

I think his opera Dr. Faustus is his magnum opus
Also I rate the Sonatina Seconda and Toccata highly as original 88 compositions…

For me it is the Fantasia Contrappuntistica that stands out

It’s incredibly academic and overwrought but I find it very rewarding
