He published both versions, should be in da same book.

I remember he marked the extreme gape version a slow tempo ( not a wim slow but slow ) I’d be interested to hear these early version on a nasal low sustain period instrument. I think he simplified textures because pianos got more balls more than making things easier - tho his genius did that too
