Hehe, I’m just joking around but still I got news that just calmed me down. music123.com sent me an email saying they expect to be shipping my keyboard next week. Before this, they didn’t even give me a shipping estimate.
Anyway, I only ordered the Casio CTK593. It’s cheap but is touch sensitive. When my order arrives, I will have everything I need:
*keyboard
*sustain pedal
*bench
*AC adapter
*stand
*MIDI to sound card cable
*eMedia learning software (that uses the MIDI cable)
*Alfred Publishing All-in-One Basic Adult Piano Course (book 1,2,3 + 2 CDs)
When that thing arrives I’m going to play like a bitch!
EDIT: I have to remind myself to buy headphones as well so I can play like a true motherfucker!
I made a software dat calculates your average NPS for scales, octaves, arpeggio, and repeated chords using da midi interface, I’ll send it to u when u get ur sheeyat so dat we can c if u iz a tru mofo
Haha! At this point, I don’t even know what all that means.
Hey, I was looking at some reviews on the Koss PortaPro headphones (they look weird) and a lot of customers say they’re great. Anyway, they’re on sale at Futureshop (in Canada). I think they were bought by BestBuy from the US so you might want to check them out. I hope they’ll work well with the keyboard.
I don’t know why I’m saying this but I heard on the news that my former lawyer was acquitted of some bullshit-sounding charges. Like the police tried saying that because he was paid by a criminal for his services that he had “laundered” the money. Whatever, I think he’s a great lawyer. Better than what you see on TV. I also heard he was in a depression so I wrote him a letter saying anyone can take courses, not everyone becomes competent at what they do. And that he shouldn’t let incompetent or negligent (or even criminal) police officers discourage him from making a contribution to society with his talents. I had a false accusation against me and he got me acquitted. I hope he gets his license and everything back. LOL, if I get in trouble for real, I still want him as a lawyer.
BTW, you know what I find weird? I was at my mother’s place yesterday and when I practiced Jingle Bells and all those weird tunes I learned before, I didn’t have any real problems playing them. LOL, I had only practiced like 3 weeks several months ago.
OK, right now, it’s January 03, 2005 and in two days music123 should be ready to start shipping again. They said they were doing inventory until January 5, 2005. This is going to be like one of the most exciting countdowns for me ever. The minute they send me an email confirming the keyboard has been sent, I’m going to check out the UPS website for an update every hour on the hour to track my package.
My back is still waking me up so the only thing I applied for lately is to shovel snow. My back doesn’t bother me once I’m up and I can shovel snow anyway. That’s good that I even bothered to apply though because I kind of find it scrary to apply for jobs. It’s embarassing and depressing. Once I start, I usually don’t mind applying again. But for the moment, I can only apply for temporary jobs. (I’m still not sleeping enough because of my back.) I have to remind myself to make an appointment to see the doctor for my back. I’m just hoping I"ll get some kind of x-ray or whatever and will have an idea what’s going on. My back problem only started waking me up like that in November 2004.
Right now I’m watching Bands Reunited and they failed to reunite the New Kids on the Block. That’s too bad, their music was OK.
I finally got an appointment to see a doctor and was able to see one today. I got an appointment to get an x-ray near the end of the month and then another appointment with the doctor after that.
The doctor thinks it’s some kind of muscle spasm thing.
I don’t like waiting for my keyboard. music123.com is also on eBay and they have a warning to everyone there saying they will be counting inventory until Jan.05. So boring.
I think some of the new pillows at Wal-Mart are cool. I felt like buying a new one today. I already have three trying to figure out which one is best for me. Now it looks like I’ll have to buy another one.
I wish I had an answer as to why they are taking so long to send my order but this is starting to look insane. I ordered on December 10, 2004 and I figured once they would start shipping again, they would put my order in priority ahead of others. The only thing I can guess is that I asked for an aggressive price match from another website.
Well, maybe I’ll never ask for another price match again. I’m sure as hell not ordering from music123.com again anyway.
If I order from amazon.com (to here in Canada) they send through regular mail and I don’t have to pay excessive brokerage fees. music123.com sent part of my order (the bench and AC adapter) to Canada through fuckin’ UPS which charged insane brokerage fees.
In 5 more days it will have been a full month since I ordered while people on eBay are saying they have received their orders in a number of days. I hate this I really hate it. They are doing this at a time where I desperately need a hobby because I cannot work right now and it’s hard for me to keep my sanity. I can’t believe I haven’t gone nuts yet.
I"m the one who’s supposed to say that. I just got the keyboard. OK, that’s good but there is one very peculiar problem. The sustain pedal and eMedia software has not arrived. There is also no tracking number for those. I requested a tracking number for that and if it doesn’t arrive, I’ll just send a photocopy of the packing slip saying only the keyboard was shipped and I will dispute part of the charges. This company seems to have very strange shipping policies.
OK, I got the keyboard. Then the next day I got the sustain pedal and the eMedia software that shows you how to play.
The only thing about the eMedia software I don’t like is the computer doesn’t seem to recognize the keyboard. I hooked up the keyboard to the computer with a MIDI to sound card cable which goes to the joystick port. Maybe I didn’t click on the right things on the software but so far I don’t see any interactive features as advertised.
They never sent a tracking number for the other box though. I only have to see how they charged this stuff on my credit card now. I guess I’ll contact eMedia about the problem. There are videos in the software that shows you how to play though. That’s OK.
