I can say I love Medtner now. Back in the Noughties I bought Hamelin’s sonata set but couldn’t get into it. The narration / storytelling element in his work really appeals to me now.

I’m surprised op. 39 shares the lead. I’ve neglected this so I know what I’m gonna listen to later
It’s not really one of my favourite sonatas, but I like Nikonovich’s rec best.

Hahah wtf it wuz one ov yo votez
Yep, I didn’t have my glasses on. Was aiming for Op. 38. :-/
Though to be fair, I love all of Medtner’s sonatas, so if we were allowed 14 votes I’d have used them all up.

I love them all really. The ones I chose maybe the most. Probably the sonatas I’ve listened to the most out of all composers.

Juz not a cumposer I’ve gotten round to.
I think i followed through one of the cuncertoz ages ago.
I think the best place to start with Medtner might be opus 39 no 5 «Sonata Tragica». Nice themes, good melodies and great climaxes. Does @Ashley_Tervort agree?
