I added a stage where it decides if the noise reduction from the wall comparison is less or more than if there was a simple sum for out of phase noise.

I had a super beautiful ideal. RIAA pre emph and post emph cancel eachother’s impulse tails (theoretically) and a lot of junk that comes later in the chain rings with the RIAA curve playback filters. I bet you could write a separation algorithm which looks for tails associated with a post emph only filter characteristic and removes them and the tails only. This would be the holy grail to preserve all original transients.

Too complex to sort tails (non furry) but while thinking about this I realize I can just use linear phase filter to mimic RIAA do the click cleanup then reverse that linear phase filter and run normally. It fix tail smearing (non scat) by the biquads of non musical transients while unsmearing musical shits from pre Emph RIAA and not adding removal artifacts that get amplified 100x later.
