His trans of a violin partita. 1942 rec:

There was also just the prelude of this recorded in 1935 and rejected. Survives from a test pressing:

This mostly a test to see how impulse response do for weird curve correction. The DJ table may be too boomy for a good transfer even with lube secrets.

Sounds pretty good on phone speaker. Will do the B side.

Nice!

Trying paraffin loaded with boron lube suspension. Will buff on something tomorrow.

The old grammaphone guys seem to be into waxing things. Who knows?

Wow!!

This record is trashed but the wax did help it play better, so I took a shot at cleaning pressing error crackles. Super flat and meh because of cleanup… but not sure any of the pressings of this were in good shape based on commercial release sucking so bad.

Will throw out and make room for ebay bargains.

I do the B side of danse excentrique. I got a super nice copy in seattle so this just for Western Electric rec practice.

I do something crafty here. I play at half speed but also record at 48khz then in audacity change project file to 96khz so it go normal. I also adjust and apply curve to the slower 48khz copy adjusted for frequency drop.

When I put to 96khz any temporal smearing from curve application is cut in half and needle (cuz physics) twice as nimble in the groove. This make the click amplitude easier for the click repair to find and fix.

Also the boundary friction paraffin + boron nitride works better when needle not ricocheting all around the groove at 78rpm.

This why budget disc give better detail that commercial dudes. (at least when I listen on phone speaker : )

I not bother to futz with pitch cuz it sound ok and that also cause smear sound.

some porn for fatty:
