I think Scriabin fits very well with Liszt.
That’s fair enough. One aspect that worries me in programming 2-3 big pieces that demand a lot is to arrive exhausted at the last piece. That was the only reason for me to program the Petrarch in the program above, to get some air mid-way. In retrospect, it was probably a moot point, because when I got to the b minor, after a good 45 mins of playing, I felt fresh and excited, so maybe I should just go with what I want, as youse said…
I never thought of that coupling, but I guess it may work for some piece selections. Now, however, I need to let Liszt to rest a bit. I’ve eaten, drunk, and breathed Liszt for two years, we need to part ways for a little, but I will always come back to him (I didnt include this in the TLDR, that I was temporarily done with Liszt after this…)
Generally a good template, I find, is FURY MOIZT FURY etc etc, and if you can arrange the order so that there are tangible connections, so much the better.
