Amazingly back to back the biquad majorly squishy against the FIR based RIAA. I think taking at 192 32 bit makes the FIR taps kick the shit out of the biquad calcs somehow. Mysterious!

Still sounds a little weird using passive resisters to correct the load into the F3. The balanced out on the DA 3000 I got is rated at 100 ohms so chasing from laser turntable into it using line level and outputting using the low imp XLR output into the f3’s 3k imp input. Should be best case with minimal impact to SNR.
Was looking at the board in the turntable. Tons of resistors in there. There is a bunch of verbiage on letting the device come to temp and not letting it over heat. Gonna let it play for a bit to see if these buggers perform more in spec than a cold start.
Ok, testing with Novitskaya now that I’ve optimized every element of the chain. This will be first complete transfer instead of piecemeal experimenting in a while.
Da Process
- Ultrasonic soak in regular water
- Soft brush scrub with Tergitol and Prop Glycol mix
- Ultrasonic rinse in regular water
- Repeat above a second time
- Microfiber Dry
- Glue with Titebond II to pick up any lint
- Unglue whilst grounded under a stream of ions anti static machine (I got an industrial one of these used in clean rooms).
- Play immediately on laser turntable at opimal operating temp chased through DA 3000 into Zoom F3 doing A to D at 32 bit 192kz (ideal ohm stuff, and no attenuation like a PAD situation)
- Export to RX8 run RIAA curve corrections on Natural setting
- Normalize to -1 DB
- Reduce rumble using Fabfilter’s phase friendly compressor
- Run Declick at strength 2 around -8 focus
- Downsample
- Export cuz its done

Forgetting this Novitskaya disc has some damage from past experiments. Oh well, still a good baseline and I can’t hear Ho’s scrib third sonata again without exploding. Will post it all after I eat some taco bell.
