The Official Fatty Tranny Request Thread

It makes sense but also… the only reason it’s up on YouTube is it’s controlled opposition

HOLY FUCKING CHRIST! JESUS FUCK!

The graphene / PVA polymer I made out of the titebond glue was indeed dramatically stronger. Conversely to what I was thinking, it peeled off super easy because the polymer bonded with itself and the surface debris much more strongly.

I wasn’t expecting much improvement but the background noise dropped about roughly 5 - 10 DB! from previous glue application. This is still the pressing error LP and impedance isn’t right, so tonality is weirdly rounded (device comes friday to fix that) but holy fuck. Check out the difference:

I think by early next week I should be able to pull the most accurate LP transfers in human history. :sunglasses: :brain: :alpaca:

Hmmm

Looking at the Graphene PVA I pulled off of the LP. Super detailed

Pretty sure I could put a release agent on there and use it to mold another record out of vinyl from a shellac original at some point. Will do that if I don’t blind myself paying with acid next week.

Nerds get a ton of pussy

I think if I work at this another year I should be able to get these sounding almost as good as 1990s Mp3s :sunglasses:

Why not just master Feux Follet, instead?

I actually ordered that cheeseball Glinka tranny I was interested in. Will maybe do that. Looks harder in many ways. Less stimulating that learning about glues tho.

On a much lower level, I started fooling around with Prelude 3 from Chop’s 24. Seems doable with zlow practice.

At the very least, it’s a more enjoyable way to develop tech than Czerny or Hanon.

I started to pick some stuff from that tranny apart by ear. Lot so of inglorious skips and weird repositioning. Will give a shot though cuz it seems easy to remember and accessible if I want to shred it in the open.

I’m using the Cortot fingerings. I have the edition that includes his commentaire.

Cortot has some nifty fingering solutions. He must’ve been a gensui pedagogue.

Got my radial engineering DI box. Hope of fixes gaped impedance stuffs. After that maybe I’ll figure out group delay stuff from the filter networks in the signal chain. Or not :sunglasses:

Excited!

Woh! It worked!

I’ll see if i can peel the novitskaya without ruining it now.

Waiting to peel. Running an experiment.

Putting this industrial anti static work station gun on blast and taking particulate matter readings to see if it actually neutralizes particulate in air instead of on surfaces like it’s intended.

Baseline reading, I dun set the dates ever on my air quality meter. Randomly aside from fires now and then, Seattle has great air.

Eh not much diff.

The date’s wrong on that thing.

Yeah… never set it up all the way. Man… i gotta stay off ebay. I got this and a radiation detector.

I peel graphene composite glue, I transfer using correct impedences, I declick, remove a little tape hiss and rumble. This is the novitskaya 1971 disc I’ve assaulted for the better part of a year now. This has no mastering just a transfer.

This dramatically more listenable than I was expecting. Era of the greatest transfers in history begin. I should start a thread that is based around transfers instead of rando experiments maybe cuz this one very unfollowable. Hmmm…
