Yeah, let’s end his career. It kinda sucks because he really did have a legendary technique.
Wow, HERE’S a candidate:
.I mean, is it LEGALLY possible to play the 8s at the end even slower??!!! I mean, WTF???!!

…actually, I used to think da TUR(BI) had pretty inadequate tech, despite all the accolades, but da BULLET just blows everyone out of the water. Or should I say, just BLOWS?

Dude
Rubinstein is definitely my favorite penizt who did not have great technik. Usually gensui with Chop except for the Chopetz becuz he could not play them

I zecond Demus who isz a poetic penizt and recorded zo much ZHOE, yet he royally fuckz da Tocc.
Edwin Fischer was pretty bad.
Richter couldn’t believe that Entremont kept getting live gigs and making big label recordings. I think he was also annoyed by the marketing of Entremont as a big deal pianist.
I’ve always wondered why he kept bringing him up
Oh, yeah, how could I forget him ![]()
…wait, was he even a pianist? ![]()

I love his early recs of Mozart, Beethoven…despite the limited technique…

Totally agree. Love nearly all his recordings, such a lovely sound, especially in the slow movements of Beethoven (the Emperor Concerto with Furtwangler is something to behold).
Bolet made the first commercial recording of Prok II, and I still think it’s pretty gudd…
True, he was more a pianist to hear live in terms of excitement.
But the Berlin radio recordings Vol. 3 set for example contains some stunning playing IMO.
da Vlad imprinted on Bolet’s Carnegie rec and still conziderz dat Bach-Buzoni and Chopin 24p da bezt of da bezt tru
