your fave Paganini Variations?

Brahms, Liszt, Friedman, Rachmaninoff or Lutoslawski?

The Friedman is probably the most difficult, and has some unique harmonic innovations. Which do you prefer?

pozz tha bk 1 brahmz :ziff:

rachmaninoff, brahms, lutosławski, and rosenblatt are my favorites.

forgive me for my ignorance, but who is the bk 1?

tru i lyk da bk 1 brahmz bezt of all

n randmly i lyk bk2 brahmz least of all (wtf?)

ok, I understand now “bk” is an abbreviation for “Book”

I like bk 1 better then book 2 as well, and the Frieman version is astonishingly difficult.

I like da Oct glizz and the coda of da book one.

Personally I don’t find the brahms very musical. Rach is my favourite, I haven’t heard Friedman. Fazil Say is fun to listen to.

I’m not sure…

However since Brahms Bk 1 is the only one I know… I guess it must be my favorite.

you haven’t heard the rachmaninoff rhapsody ? :open_mouth:

laughs not everyone is as well-endowed as you are.

I posted dis poll n PS and got 1 reply!
Wow, you really don’t know the Rachmaninoff?
What about paganini’s? I have never heard the original on violin, from what I remember, Liszt’s is a direct transcription of it.

hahaha a comme clazzic 8)

:god: genie :god:

Ha true my favorite pag var zet iz da Pimp paget 6.

dey all suck but easily da Rock if i had 2 chooze

That’s right! I forgot about this version. Actually, he was the first to develop this theme into variations.

well paganini did it himself before liszt could even imagine doing such a thing. da original pag version is a variation on an original itself.

true - I overlooked this apparent fact.

Tiz why I mentioned it before any of you mofo’s (see post above!)
