I’ve gone off Chopin quite seriously in the last ten years. I think the relentless stream of adolescents salivating over the first ballade has something to do with it.

My problem wih Chopin is the sort of playing that is encouraged by Warsaw competition, especially when Bitchazz won in 2005. Truly the only pianist who’s ever bored me. Randomly what ever happened to da LIMPDONG and hiz bro?

Yeah, although the main casualties in the set are 1 and 4. They should really be playing 3 though cause it’s by far the easiest imo. Super calorie efficient.

I love the polonaise fantaisie. That’s a top 5 Chopin piece for me. Again though, it doesn’t often get a good interpreter.

I love Bozhanov there, and think Richter and Horowitz both did well in it too
The Ballades are some of my favourite works by Chop, but I think Op.47 is the weakest of them. It’s a bit trivial next to the others. My brother thinks Op.38 is the low point, since it’s the least wikid tour de force in composition - which might be true.
I think no 2 is the weakest…
