Becuz?
Coz just too much music and my teacher hammered good program ideas into me.
I don’t go for these cd rep concerts. Last 3 Schubert/Beethoven zons, all chop nocts is just a blergh idea to me.
But sum teachahz might argue, “tiz not what you play but how you play it”…
Az I zaid, “oh man”
I would cunzider it with da zim.
I think the best programs should have a mix of popular to draw crowds and underplayed to let them experience zumthing new. Zoundz obviouz i guezz.
Can be hard finding that zong that’s muso and pleb friendly. I was programming schnittke improvisation and fugue with bagatelles at one point. Surprisingly good reaction to the Shnittke.
Now that I think of it longer, yeah I agree, tiz juz too much for one aftahnoon…
It’s too much for the batteries in my recorder as well. I can’t believe KZ isn’t thinking about these things.
Or perhaps that is exactly why he is doing it…
Hehe. New idea when the bootleg detector didn’t work. Anyone who reaches for the pocket after 3 hours of playing…
A pubic (sic) perf zhud haff sum decent programming, not like a mono-composer or genre based CD.
Fuck that.
Igor Levit playing Busoni Concerto & Beethoven Choral Fantasy
Carnegie Hall announced its 2020/2021 season.
Trifonov’s new program is this:
SZYMANOWSKI Piano Sonata No. 3, Op. 36
WEBER Piano Sonata No. 1 in C Major, Op. 24
BRAHMS Piano Sonata No. 3 in F Minor, Op. 5

Szymanowski sounds like him. Less sure about Weber and Brahms.
Good
Oh shut up
Ah, encouraging to see Perahia scheduled for 2021. Nothing serious there then presumably.
Boring doc program
And Kissin returns to Khrennikov - nice
