Which pianist's technique aged the most gracefully/furiously

I got it working in time to catch the rondo. I agree, more musical than technical and it seems a little more frayed than the last time I heard her. I’ve never been a fan of her playing. Although, I didn’t dislike it, it never really did anything for me. I do have a great admiration for Argerich as a personality, however. She had this wild, magnetic charm off the stage (but not, imo on it) and she was also obviously a great beauty in her youth.

Friedman programmed only op 25 as a set, same goes for Lhevinne actually…

Moiseiwitsch did all 24 at one point…

I’d go for the Friedman selected Chopets, he usually did:
Op 10: 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 12 and op 25: 6, 8, 11, 12

This is a hypothetical where the pianist plays the whole set. Horowitz never played many, but if he had in his 20s or 30s I’m sure I would have loved to have been there (with my recording equipment, of course).

The orchestra is called Orchestra Neojiba? Never heard of them, but fwiw what I see makes me happy. The more nations, cultures and experiences you bring in to art music the better.

Yeah da orgy has a certain undeniable charisma. She’s always a bit full steam ahead though.

And I can no longer think of her without recalling my late teacher’s cg anecdote about interviewing her in the early 60s:

"I can’t remember anything about the interview at all…

Except how much I wanted to fuck her."

Rezpek!))) I can’t **** believe he told a class that!

Damn! Mildly wtf.

I never found her anything close to hot

There was also a more polite rhapsody re her skin tone and “exuding sexuality” :orgy:  but I guess she doesn’t look remotely Asian :tm:

I remember da Egyptian River Ed being in love with da 60+ year old Argerich circa 2004. Tru diz random friend of da Comme, kinda a fucked up mofo.

Alzo, da SAUER maintained his tech right up to da end.
What a mofo. Hiz shoe conc made da piece semi-listenable

About old pianists, Backhaus was incredible even in his late years. The same was Egon Petri. But the most elegant pianist (which remained also a true virtuoso) was Earl Wild; I never met a pianist as elegant as him.

Considering living pianists, I can say Martha Argerich, which is still a lioness.
